Jon Bon Jovi has some heartwarming words for his wife on their 36th wedding anniversary, but you have to take it with a pinch of salt after his open admittance to his repeated cheating.

In a cute Instagram post, Jon Bon Jovi wished his wife a happy 36th wedding anniversary with the message, "36 roses for 36 amazing years, Happy anniversary my love." It shows a picture of them on their wedding day. But, with his recent admittance of infidelity, you have to wonder who it was having the amazing years, because it probably wasn't her.
Jon Bon Jovi married his wife, Dorothea, in 1989 and hasn't been all that faithful. But, he says she allows him his cheating as long as he is honest. He was a rock star, after all, touring the world. He was hardly ever going to stay a saint, but he was honest about it.
"These are all the wonderful clichés of rock stardom," he told The Independant in 2024. "It's about never lying about having been a saint, but not being a fool enough to f*** up the home life, either." She knew he wouldn't stay faithful while touring, but he was expected to be honest about it, and please don't bring back someone else's child.
36 Years Of Putting Up With Jon Bon Jovi
In an interview with ABC, Jon Bon Jovi admitted his cheating during his long marriage, but he shows little shame. He puts it down to the lifestyle and his rock 'n' roll world. "I'm a rock 'n' roll star, I'm not a saint. You know, I'm not saying that there weren't 100 girls in my life — I'm Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good," he told the interview.
Dorothea clearly put up with it, but whether she had her own lovers is still unknown. I would hope, with her understanding, he would show her the same courtesy. Really, though, the success of Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea's marriage comes down to communication and understanding.
"She's also there when I fall. And I'm there for her when she falls," he gushed. "No matter where I went in my career, the ups or the downs, we went there together," he said. "Because of what she did to keep the kids right, what she does to keep me right, what we do together to keep it right. No doubt about it."
It takes a steady rock to hold things down with a star like Jon Bon Jovi, but here they are, celebrating 36 years of marriage.
