It's been 16 years since Justin Moore's self-titled debut album was released. In the years since then, Moore has spent most of his time on tour. While he loves getting to perform in front of his fans, there is one part of being a successful artist that Moore still doesn't like, even after all these years.

"I hate flying. I thought when you got into this business, you just got on a tour bus and went," Moore admits to his record label. He adds that he was ill-prepared for how many times he would actually be on a plane.
"I never realized there was the amount of flying that is involved," Moore acknowledges. "I've told people this in the past and they don't believe me, but it's true. Had I known that, I probably wouldn't have done it."
Unfortunately for Moore, he never has gotten used to having to spend so much time in the air.
"It literally has taken years off my life from stress," Moore admits. "I mean, I'm the one that shakes my leg the whole time. I've gotten better over the years, but I still don't enjoy it."
Why Justin Moore Doesn't Live in Nashville
Moore proudly calls Arkansas home. The father of four chooses not to live in Nashville, where most of the country music happens.
"Nashville was really good to me," Moore says on the God's Country podcast. "But it just wasn't home. It just never felt like home. So we moved back home... I live on the property I grew up on. I can hit a pitching wedge to my parents' house where I grew up, over a pond in a cow pasture."
Living in Arkansas is a decision he is happy with, even if he knows it has cost him some success. Moore even tried living in Music City. But for him, Arkansas was, and likely always will be, home.
"It's cost me things in my career," Moore maintains. "Awards, probably tours. But I don't give a sh-t to be honest with you. I want my kids, 20 years from now, to go, 'Dad was here. He was here and he made us the priority.'"
Moore has a Top 40 hit right now with "Time's Ticking." The song is from his 2024 This Is My Dirt album.
