KC Johns Is Touring The UK, Here's What I As A Local Warned Her About

KC Johns has recently kick-started her first-ever U.K. tour. When discussing her tour, I thought I'd give her some friendly advice about this weird and wonderful nation. And I mentioned where she should absolutely avoid.

The rock and roll country singer is currently touring the United Kingdom. She began her tour on May 10, and

will be hitting venues until May 26. She's only done two of her shows so far, but it looks like she's been having a great time.

Telling me about her setlist, she said, "The setlist is going to be very high energy. I like to put on a good rock 'n' roll country show, so I feel like you're gonna have a lot of energy from us. A bunch of originals, maybe 1 or 2 new songs that we haven't released yet."

When we spoke about her latest single "Smoke Show" and her (at the time) upcoming U.K. tour, I thought I'd tell her a thing or two to better prepare her. As a Brit myself, living just outside of London in the slums of Slough, I felt pretty equipped to inform her.

Of course, KC Johns was super excited to visit. "I don't even know what to expect. I'm totally going into this like just blindsided," she told me. "I need to start doing some research online about the places I'm visiting, what I can see when we're in those towns, so that's gonna be totally new for me."

Well, worry not KC Johns, as I've got you covered.

The United Kingdom: The Condensed Land Of Everywhere Else's Cuisine

"I don't really know what to expect with the food, and the travel, but I think we're going to have a lot of fun, I'm super excited," she said about her visit. So I began telling her what she needed to know.

"There's a lot crammed into the U.K.," I started. "A lot of places to go. You'll probably find that every crowd is different, because you drive 50 miles out, and there's suddenly a new culture and accent, and a new name for things."

This is something most know by now, just how small this mighty nation is. But I feel like Americans will need to see it to believe it.

I then went on to another popular criticism. The food.

"The food isn't as bad here as everyone says," I set the record straight.

She replied, "That's what I keep saying, that's why I keep asking people."

Of course, I had to bring up the infamous beans on toast. Although I admitted it's a dietary staple for most, she won't have to subject herself to it. "The best part about UK cuisine is that it is mostly other countries' cuisine," I explained. So long as she enjoys Italian, Indian, Chinese, French, or anywhere else's food, she'll be fine.

Then she asked me where I was from. I gulped.

Please Don't Come To Slough

I told KC Johns that I lived in Slough, a town just outside of London.

Hilariously, she optimistically said, "Hopefully we get to pass through there!"

Me: "Honestly Slough sucks."

KC Johns: "Maybe we won't pass through there."

Glad I got that out of the way.

"I would advise you not to go anywhere near Slough. It is awful here," I admitted.

I didn't delve into the grisly details of living in Slough, as I thought I had got the message across aptly. Sure, it's not all bad in Slough, but I'd still avoid it.

I Can't Wait To See KC Johns

Later this month, I'll be attending her concert in Syon Park, London. I can't wait to see her myself, and to ask how she's getting on in the U.K. I also wonder if any of my inside info helped her out at all.

"I'm hoping people show up and have a good time," she told me about her shows. I do, too.

Hopefully, I'll see you there!
