The "Since U Been Gone" singer has been dealing with the loss of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, with whom she shares two kids, River Rose and Remi Alexander.

Clarkson took to Instagram in August to update fans. She shared, "While I usually keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them."

She said that she would be postponing the remainder of her August studio sessions in Las Vegas, where she holds a residency. Grateful for their understanding, she apologized as well. "I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding," the singer said.

What Fans Can Expect From Season 7 of The Kelly Clarkson Show

Blackstock had been diagnosed with melanoma and had chosen to battle the cancer privately three years before his death. He was 48 years old when he passed.

During that time, Clarkson was absent from tapings of The Voice: Battle of Champions, on which she is a judge this year. She had also been absent from The Kelly Clarkson Show earlier in the year to prioritize her family.

The Kelly Clarkson Show's musical director, Jason Halbert shared that the premeire was "emotional for all of us." He also hinted at what viewers can expect from this next season, saying, "A lot happened for us all in the last year, on personal and career levels. You're going to see some songs reflect things that maybe she wouldn't talk about verbally in a sitting-on-the-couch interview."

On Monday, Clarkson had a strong premiere for season 7, where she interviewed the costars of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie. Clarkson also touched on the Texas floods that happened in July, chatting with bus drivers who rescued children during the disaster.

Although Clarkson didn't mention Blackstock or her personal family matters, the energy at the premiere was at an all time high. It's good to have Clarkson back, and we're glad to see her doing what she loves again after a much needed break.
