Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris are writing songs, together! Ballerini reveals that Morris even traveled to visit her in South Carolina, so they could write, and also rekindle their friendship.

"Maren and I haven't had the chance to catch up in years, and we've both had so much life that's happened," Ballerini tells People.
"We've recently just reconnected," she adds, sharing why she wanted to write with Morris. "I've always really looked up to her songwriting and her musicality, and we've never written together. So I was like, 'Come on down to Charleston. Let's write.'"
Ballerini is in Charleston while her boyfriend, Chase Stokes, is filming his Outer Banks TV show. Fortunately, it wasn't all work for the two, who also enjoyed "three days of girl time," Ballerini says.
"[It was] me, her and Alysa [Vanderheym]," Ballerini says. "We wrote and we went to dinners. It was not work. It was much more play than work."
The songwriting was announced after the two have been posting humorous TikTok videos, together.
Kelsea Ballerini Spends Time In Charleston
Ballerini hinted she would be spending time in Charleston after her time on The Voice and her tour ended.
"I'm going to shift into real life for a bit," Ballerini tells Country Now. "And hopefully within doing that for a while, start to very slowly write again and figure out what's next. But catch me in Charleston with the dogs. That's where I'll be for most of the summer."
Stokes traveled with Ballerini while she was headlining her own tour, which is why she is glad she now gets to support him and his job.
"We are both very much so golden-retriever energy most of the time. But we both have a little bite in us, and we're both incredibly driven," Ballerini admits to Nylon. "He is the first person I've been in a relationship with that I feel like is not my complete opposite."
Ballerini has yet to reveal her plans for the remainder of the year, other than spending time with Stokes. She will not be returning to The Voice for the next two seasons. Ballerini has plans to tour Australia in December.
