"This year has been just a whirlwind, and so beautiful in a lot of ways," she tells the CMA, backstage at CMA Fest. "But getting to do my first headlining arena tour was just the biggest thing on my bucket list. We did 35 arenas, and it was just one of the most fulfilling, beautiful experiences of my life so far, and I immediately want to do it again."
Ballerini performed "Baggage" during the CMA Fest TV special, which aired on ABC. The three-hour show is streaming now on Hulu.
Kelsea Ballerini's Next Musical Chapter
In addition to headlining her own show, Ballerini also enjoyed her first season on The Voice. Although thrilling, Ballerini did say she is ready for a break after her grueling schedule.
"I need a break!" Ballerini says on Today With Jenna & Friends, where she served as a co-host (via Rolling Stone). "And I've never been able to say that before, but I really think it's just time for me to pump the brakes, figure out what's next, have a summer, what? Go to the beach? Learn to cook a new meal, hang out with the dogs. So that's kind of my agenda."
Ballerini also plans on soaking up some time with her longtime boyfriend, Chase Stokes.
"I think that's our couple goals for the year. It's going well. Lots of laying in bed with red light masks on," Ballerini says (via People). "'Cause I feel like that's funny. It makes you hotter, I think, and it's ambitious to do. So it's kind of three birds, one stone."
The 31-year-old might be plotting a new tour, but after she pours back into her own tank enough.
"I'm going to shift into real life for a bit," Ballerini tells Country Now. "And hopefully within doing that for a while, start to very slowly write again and figure out what's next. But catch me in Charleston with the dogs. That's where I'll be for most of the summer."
