Kenny Chesney has revealed some behind-the-scenes details about his upcoming residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas.

The country singer visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss his upcoming live run. He expressed that he's always looking for a way to up the ante at his shows, and The Sphere was too perfect an opportunity to pass up.
Just from the videos I've seen of The Sphere alone, I can only imagine how magical the experience is.
He is slated to perform "May for a limited run," although no dates have been released yet.
Talking to Jimmy Fallon about the residency, Kenny Chesney said, "This is such a unique, different thing for me." He said how The Sphere is such an "immersive thing," and that it's "such a shared moment."
Funnily enough, Chesney signed up to perform at The Sphere despite never having attended a show there. But he did visit it after agreeing to perform.
"I went there, and they showed me a little bit of what was possible," he said. "And I looked at my crew and my, you know, my team, and I went, 'There's no way we're not not doing this.'"
Chesney Said He Had To Reshoot All Footage For The Sphere
The Sphere is huge. Its screens aren't like any others Chesney may be used to using for his concerts.
"Everything is shot in 36K [resolution]," he said
"So we have all this footage that we've used over the years in our stadium shows or whatever, and can't use a frame of it," he explained. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, however, as he next explains.
"We got to re-shoot everything, which is good, because it's so, it just makes it really new and fresh. And that's one of the reasons that I agreed to do it."
It's safe to say that Chesney is excited for his run in May. I mean, he's having a good time as it is just making the show.
Considering they have to reshoot all their footage, I wonder if they'll add anything new, or remix what they originally had. Now that would be fresh and exciting.
