Kevin Costner must feel like a pinata these days. His ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, married one of Costner's former pals in October. The Yellowstone alum was also the subject of a scathing article in The Hollywood Reporter. It claimed Costner and another actor in the megahit Western TV drama series, Wes Bentley, almost came to blows during a heated on-set quarrel.

Now, there is more bad news for Costner, 70. Per the New York Post, he is allegedly being sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Rented costumes for the sequel to his unpopular passion project, Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter One, were reportedly never paid for.
Costner, the respected actor and director, previously could do little wrong in Tinseltown. Lately, though, he seems to be making consequential missteps aplenty. He has come a long way from the heady triumphs of past blockbuster movies. They include The Bodyguard, Dances with Wolves, and Field of Dreams.
Why Costner Reportedly Has Legal Worries
Per the New York Post, Western Costume Leasing Company is alleging breach of contract and suing Costner and "his production banner." Costumes for his film, Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter Two, were allegedly not paid for. Per the outlet, "The lawsuit is seeking roughly $440,000 from Costner and his producers, according to court documents obtained by The Post." In addition, the lawsuit reportedly states that the costumes were not returned "undamaged."
The sum of $134,256.82 is supposedly owed for the costumes. Western Costume Leasing Company is also seeking punitive and economic damages (both total $250,000), "accrued interest," ($40,000), and attorney's fees ($200,000).
The language of the lawsuit is reportedly blistering. It asserts that Costner and the film's producers acted as they allegedly did in the matter of the costumes "maliciously, oppressively and fraudulently," per the outlet.
The 'Horizon' Franchise's Future Looks Pretty Murky Right Now
According to the outlet, Costner sank "at least $38 million of his own money" into the first Horizon movie. The results were apparently rather disappointing. The second Horizon film was not theatrically released. Despite these setbacks, Costner reportedly envisions two more films in the epic Western franchise. He is supposedly looking to finance them.
