Kid Rock has been extremely vocal about his support for Donald Trump, making him a modern poster boy for the MAGA movement. However, despite what his recent acts would lead you to believe, Kid Rock has far more nuanced beliefs than is associated with a typical MAGA member.

He has historically been vocal about his more libertarian beliefs and attitudes. The country singer got to demonstrate those views again when he visited Bill Maher on Real Time with Bill Maher.
In a
Maher asked Kid Rock if JFK was the last democrat Kid Rock liked, referencing his song "My Kind Of Country." The song begins with "My kind of country has a Trump and a JFK," showing his more nuanced beliefs.
At that question, Kid Rock went on to explain how he doesn't not like democrats.

Kid Rock Explains That He Doesn't Dislike Democrats
"I mean, my whole business is Democrats. I mean, so to speak. Not my whole business. You know, I live in Nashville now, but that's—that's the world I've operated in for years and years," he started.
"I mean, half my band's, you know, liberal, gay, or black, or this, like, you know, and it's like, we have one of the most diverse bands out there," he shared.
"Not because of any of this DEI s--t. Just because they're the best at what they do, and we all love each other and get along," he explained to the cheers of the crowd.
Kid Rock went on to further elaborate his nuanced past with the Democrats. Maher brought up that he performed at Trump's inauguration, to which Kid Rock replied, "Remember I played at Barack Obama's inauguration. I didn't vote for him, [but] I played for him at the Kennedy Center."
"Everybody's just gotta calm the f--k down a little bit, you know what I mean?"
Kid Rock can't simply be defined as a Democrat or Republican despite appearances. I think more political celebrities shouldn't be afraid to show off the nuance in their beliefs and experiences. Even politics doesn't have to be black and white.
