Lainey Wilson had the proposal of her dreams to her man Devlin 'Duck' Hodges. The man knows exactly what his lady loves and he nailed the assignment accordingly. The pair end up going to George Jones' estate, a bucket list destination for both of them. She's been bragging about it ever since now, she's sharing the behind the scenes story behind it all.

Recently, Lainey spoke to a local Nashville news station to reveal some of the juicy details that led to the big proposal from Hodges. There, she admits that she sensed something was up before the big moment. "So I had talked to myself into thinking he was gonna do it that day, and then I called my sister, I said, 'I think he's gonna propose to me today.' And she was like she was like, 'I gotta go.' And then I talked myself out of it," Lainey recalls. "'Cause I thought, man, I sure would be upset if I talked myself into this and it don't happen."
"But we have been wanting to go see the George Jones estate for quite some time, and his buddy had it listed for sale. We were at the Super Bowl the weekend before, and he was like 'Hey, we need to go next week to go see the George Jones estate. That way we can just say we've been at the George Jones estate,'" Lainey adds.

However, it doesn't take long for Wilson to see that this isn't some ordinary date. Duck had already planned this out behind the scenes and sets the scene perfectly. Candles and picture frames fill out the setting. Additionally, he nails the wedding ring aspect too, with a little nudge in the right direction from the lady in his life. "As a joke I had texted him some big rings, being like, this is what I like. He was like, 'Oh Lord, I better start saving now,'" Lainey recounts. "We've been together for four years, and what he did is, he just he went in and designed it and kind of put some of those rings together that I sent him. I'd have said yes if it was just a tiny little thing, but he messed up. He messed up."
It's this kind of attention to detail and the desire that makes Wilson's job a whole lot easier. "He makes it really easy to write love songs. I can't believe I'm saying that. hopefully he's not in here, cause he's gonna get a big head, but he's a good person," Lainey grins.
