Lainey Wilson loves country music. So it was fitting when her now-fiancé, Devlin "Duck" Hodges, proposed, it would be at George Jones' home. While fans speculated that Wilson now owned the home that formerly belonged to the country music legend, the "4X4XU" singer says that is, sadly, not the case.

"We've been trying to go see it for a while, and one of Duck's buddies was listing it for sale," Wilson says on Apple Music Country's The Kelleigh Bannen Show. "He had it all staged. Mandelyn [Monchick], my manager, and her boyfriend were supposed to be meeting us and all this stuff just to go look at it because I was like, 'I want to go see where George Jones lived.' And then we showed up and they weren't there. And he had in front of the door, it was candles and picture frames and it was beautiful."
Wilson also reveals in the same interview that they have not even set a date for their nuptials. But she does also reveal one important detail of her big day: what she will -- and will not -- wear.
"I'm going to wear a dress," says the singer. "I hadn't done the whole dress shopping. We haven't even picked a date or anything like that. We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn't worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it."

Wilson will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the biggest country music stars of this generation. Still, she is happy to pay homage to the artists who have gone before her, which is why she performed Hank Williams' 1948 classic "Lonesome Song," for Opry 100: A Live Celebration, while playing Williams' guitar, She was joined by Marty Stuart for the song, who also joined her to sing her own debut single, "Things A Man Oughta Know."
Wilson became a member of the Grand Ole Opry on June 7, 2024, inducted by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
"Honestly, it feels like the biggest night of my life," Wilson said during her induction (via MusicRow). "We have had a crazy couple of years and all the awards and everything but this right here feels like the highest honor for me. It feels like the stamp of approval from everybody that stood right here. That just lights another fire under my butt."
