Lainey Wilson Explains Why She Wants To Keep Her Wedding Simple

A wedding can be the biggest day of someone's life. They wait for so long to capture beautiful love and matrimony with the person they want to spend a lifetime with. Consequently, plenty of people really go above and beyond for the whole affair. Couples drain their bank accounts, go into debt, and pull out all the bells and whistles for peak extravagance. It's incredibly sweet, if not a little impractical for most people. Lainey Wilson isn't exactly hurting in the pockets so she can pull off a massive wedding. Still, she wants to keep it simple.

Recently, Wilson sat down for an interview at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival. There, she obviously talks about the big ol' diamond on her ring finger and what any plans might be for the wedding. Apparently, this hasn't even been anything Lainey and her man Devlin 'Duck' Hodges has worked too hard on yet. When they finally put their plans in action though, will they splurge on the festivities?

According to her, not at all. They'd much rather keep it down to the basics and party like any other couple would on their big day.

"We really haven't even gotten started yet, but it's all good. We're just taking our time. I told him, I was like, everything else is a big old to-do, we might as well just... I want it to be about what it's supposed to be about. Of course a party, we're going to have a party," Wilson says.

Lainey is also on the record saying that she's not in any rush to get this done either. She jokes that, because Duck kept her waiting on the engagement, she's willing to drag things out on the big ceremony too. ""[Duck] is gonna kill me, but I told I'm gonna make him wait. He made me wait for 4 years. I'm gonna make him wait before we start planning this thing. We hadn't really covered any ground on it just yet, but we're taking our time and it's gonna be right and it's gonna be beautiful and, you know, what it's supposed to be about," Lainey dishes in another interview.
