Lainey Wilson is arguably the hardest working woman in country right now. The only people that might rival her are Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. But that work ethic and that packed schedule is what helps make Wilson such a massive star. She goes above and beyond, in music and in television alike.

Moreover, she's doing all of this while trying to keep a relationship alive and thriving. Her relationship with Devlin 'Duck' Hodges remains as strong as ever, despite a jam packed schedule between the both of them. Devlin found just the right time to propose to Lainey, proof that they're still making it work. Still, between Duck's real estate work and Lainey's music career, it's easy to get lost. Oftentimes, their time can conflict and it can create a rift. However, Wilson explains that there is a method to all of their madness.
Lainey Wilson Reveals How She Keeps Her Relationship With Duck Hodges Strong
Recently, she spoke with PEOPLE, where she reflects on what makes her relationship with Devlin Hodges so effective. Ultimately, it's a matter of priority. When you love someone, you find little crunches of time for them because they mean that much to you. Consequently, things will take a backseat accordingly.
"You have to definitely carve out the time," Lainey explains. "It has to be something that you're very aware of, and you're like, 'Okay, I've got a day off here in 10 days. I've got to dedicate that day to spend time with my person.' And we both need that and deserve that, and it's always great. We just try to soak up those moments as best as we possibly can."
Wilson describes her man as her "best friend" too. So any adjustments in their wild schedules becomes something they invite instead of something to lament. "He is one of the purest hearts and people that I have ever met," Lainey says. "He is my biggest cheerleader. We don't really play by the rules. We don't get to see each other all the time, and I do live a lot of my life on the road, so we're also kind of figuring it out as we go, which is fun."
