Luke Bryan Gives Health Update Following Illness

Luke Bryan is giving a new update on his health. Earlier this summer, Bryan became ill, later revealing he contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The illness caused Bryan to lose his voice, subsequently being forced to cancel or postpone several shows.

Fortunately, the 49-year-old is now doing much better than he was even a couple of weeks ago.

"I'm 100%," Bryan says on Country Countdown USA. "I got knocked back pretty good in mid-June and early July. I think fans were concerned about me; I was doing everything I could. You can only take so much medication. But all well. Feeling good."

When Bryan was able to return to his Country Song Came On Tour, he thanked his fans who sent well wishes, along with Eric Church, who filled in on some dates for him.

"I wanted to thank everybody for all the well wishes, for the last few shows that I had to postpone and obviously cancel," Bryan said at the time. "I want to thank my buddy Eric Church for stepping in, and helping out with me. It really, really gets frustrating getting sick like that, and losing my voice, and having to take a couple of weekends off. But thank you guys for supporting me. I love y'all, and we'll see you all in the shows to come."

Luke Bryan Has A Top 5 Hit With "Country Song Came On"

Bryan currently has a Top 5 hit with his latest single, "Country Song Came On." The song, from Bryan's Mind of a Country Boy record, seems tailor-made for Bryan. But surprisingly, the song was actually intended for Blake Shelton instead.

"When I got the demo, the guy's voice on the demo had a lot of similarities to Blake's voice," Bryan tells Taste of Country of the song.

Bryan also reveals he decided to cut it before even letting Shelton hear the feel-good tune.

"I'm not sure if it had got to Blake, but it was something that I really rolled around in my truck and loved and fell in love with," Bryan remarks.

"Had it been something that it wasn't for me, I probably would have texted Blake and said, 'Hey man, I hear a song that really feels like something special for you,'" he adds.
