Luke Bryan Kids About Appearance by N.E. Patriots GOAT QB During Concert, Then Backtracks: "Alright, I'm Sorry"

Luke Bryan is joyful as any performer in country music. He has a great sense of humor, as you know if you have seen him at the judges' table on American Idol. The country superstar was in the Boston area on Friday, August 8, giving a concert for his Country Song Came On Tour at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, per People.

He playfully kidded about an appearance by sports hero Tom Brady, 48, the legendary former quarterback of the New England Patriots. Because of all his gridiron accomplishments, Brady is often called the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all Time). He's beloved by fans due to his classy, down-to-earth manner and movie-star looks.

Bryan's joshing about Brady popping in to say hi did not seem far-fetched. At the same time, the retired football superstar was just a few miles away at Gillette Stadium, the Pats' home field in Foxborough. He was at a ceremony for the unveiling of a spectacular 12-foot bronze likeness of him.

There Was No Tom Brady Cameo at Luke Bryan's Show

Alas, there was no Brady sighting at Bryan's show. He said per the outlet, "Congratulations for Tom Brady's new statue today," said Bryan, 49, on stage, according to a TikTok video, before chanting 'TB 12' in a reference to the 48-year-old former quarterback's Patriots jersey number."

Bryan added, "And welcome to the stage, Tom Brady! Y'all give it up." Then he finally came clean and backtracked. "I'm just [expletive] with y'all. Oh, that is so wrong for me to do that to y'all. Who did I get? Who did I get? Alright, I'm sorry."

He ended the tease with a little quip. "You know, [Brady] only plays golf with Morgan Wallen. I can't get him on the phone."

The Former QB Had a Great Day

The star QB won seven Super Bowls among his many impressive milestones. He spoke thankfully and humbly to the enthusiastic crowd gathered at Patriot Place Plaza for the unveiling.

"Right now, I feel extremely honored, deeply grateful and, if I'm being honest, kind of old. I'm also a little surprised because usually they don't build statues until you're really old... It's not every day you get a statue, at least not one like this. Seeing myself as a statue isn't something I could've ever imagined growing up. When I was drafted, I just hoped to make the team. I never dreamed I'd be standing here two-and-a-half decades later, made of bronze and frozen in time. It actually feels pretty appropriate, given my 40-yard dash time."
