Luke Grimes Doesn't Understand Why Fans Get Mad At Him Over 'Yellowstone'

I suppose he's doing a pretty great job, then.

With the final episode of Yellowstone creeping up, more media attention is being thrown its way.

Luke Grimes and Kelsey Asbille, who play married Kacey and Monica Dutton, visited Town & Country a couple of days ago for an interview. There, they discussed what it's like for fans to blame them for actions their characters do in the show.

I understand that actors do such a brilliant job, that you associate their face with the character you hate. But to actually blame the actors is another level, and kinda hilarious.

The only actor you can hate on-screen and blame in real life, funnily enough, is Taylor Sheridan. He recently thought to give himself some undeserved screen time, and this time people were justified in blaming the actor/director for these decisions.

In the interview, they were asked how they'd respond to a fan blaming them for their character's actions in Yellowstone. "This happens," Grimes responded, "We both deal with this."

"Well, I usually tell them it's a television show that I don't write. And it's my job to show up and say the words, and it's not real life, so they should probably get over it," he said. And it's fair enough.

Luke Grimes Has To Remind Fans That He's Just The Actor

Luke Grimes further expands on his thoughts about the two characters.

"I think what's refreshing about the last season is that they are happy for a bit. The show is very hard on Kayce and Monica. For a bit, you see them sort of enjoying themselves, but it doesn't last very long, unfortunately," he says.

The next prompt is given, and the actors swiftly move on.

Unfortunately, Grimes doesn't go into detail about any specific times this has happened. I'd love to hear the story of someone going out of their way to criticize Grimes for a fictional character he has no directional control over.

Such criticisms are actually a compliment, as it shows the actor is successfully blurring the lines between fiction and reality. So I hope Grimes and Asbille remind themselves of that fact every time it happens.
