Marine Talks Dream Come True Performing With Country Star

Live music is just the best, wouldn't you agree? This marine was given one of the coolest experiences of all time. Which, to be fair, is very earned. When you serve our country at one of the highest levels, I believe you might've earned the chance to have a duet with Riley Green.

Marine's Got Tunes?

Honestly, this man kind of has some singing chops. I guess that makes sense, though. I'm sure the marine brought on stage to sing a duet would at least be able to sing a little bit.

Semper Fi Thank you First Lieutenant Jackson Perkins of the United States Marine Corps for singing this one with me at @Windy?City?Smokeout #incolor #janeyjohnson

And how about Riley Green for saying yes so readily? I'm so happy he gave this marine the chance to do something he clearly was excited to do.

Which, to be fair, who wouldn't be excited? Anyone who has heard "Way Out Here" has fallen in love with the musical genius of Riley Green. So, I'm very glad that the two were able to perform on stage together.

Interview With The First Lieutenant

A little while after the performance, First Lieutenant Jackson Perkins went on Fox and Friends to talk about what the experience was like.

While on the show, he said that the two performed the song "In Color" By Jamey Johnson. Which, naturally, is an absolute classic if you haven't heard.

They, of course, did a much more upbeat version of the song. I mean, how else are you gonna get the crowd into it? (Worth noting that this isn't a short song either.) (I was pretty impressed that he knew all the words by heart.)

During the interview, Lieutenant Perkins chatted about how much he loved getting the chance to perform live with the country star. He said to open the short interview, "Well sir I'm still fired up, I think it was great."

And I can't help but agree with the marine's sentiment.

He also talks about how he'd met Riley before during Marine Week in Nashville. So he felt a little more confident when it came to asking for a stage light.

He allegedly told the country star, "Don't worry about me." And then hopped on stage and crushed it.
