Billy Ray Cyrus made a bit of a fool of himself at the inauguration. He first appeared looking disheveled and tired, drawing comparisons to Rob Zombie. His stage show wasn't much better either. He stumbled around the stage for "Old Town Road," and then mumbled an acapella rendition of "Achy Breaky Heart" before being ushered off stage. It was painful to watch.
Since then, his ex-wife and one of his sons have spoken about the state of his health. But, people are turning to Miley to give a little insight into how Billy Ray Cyrus is coping. However, she's staying out of it, preferring not to air the family's dirty laundry.
Miley Cyrus Has Distanced Herself From Billy Ray And The Rest
Since breaking out on her own, Miley has tried to throw off the drama that comes with her family. Instead, she's her own woman, with her own drama. Free of the family gossip mill, she is free to pioneer her own direction. She's doing a hell of a job of it too, going from strength to strength both professionally and musically.
Miley is wise to stay separate from the whole Billy Ray Cyrus affair, too. She hasn't had anything to do with him professionally for some time, and getting wrapped up in something like this isn't publicity she needs. Her image doesn't need to be tied to whatever is going on with him.
An unnamed source spoke to People about Miley and her attitude to the Billy Cyrus situation. "Miley used to feel overwhelmed by the family drama," the source reveals. "She's not about to get involved again. She's in a great place now." Furthermore, they point out that "She's thriving and looking out for herself."
Her brother, Trace, has not been quiet about Billy Ray though. He has publicly spoken out about the situation and received a threat of a lawsuit from Billy Ray in response. His public posts on Instagram have raised a few eyebrows and come across as pretty insensitive to a man who is clearly struggling.
