Neil Young Invites Donald Trump on Tour After Taking Bruce Springsteen's Side in Feud

The relationship between Neil Young and Donald Trump is a rocky one. Back in 2008, the president told Rolling Stone that he loved Young's music. ""He's got something very special," he says at the time. "He's performed for me at my casinos over the years, and he just brings it down. I've met him on occasions and he's a terrific guy."

Additionally, Young also went to Trump for help in launching his Pono music venture. However, all of this changes once Trump pursued politics. Neil didn't love what he stood for and he especially didn't like him using "Rockin' in the Free World" during his campaign. Not long ago, he's also taken Bruce Springsteen's side in the spat he's got going on with the president too.

"Bruce and thousands of musicians think you are ruining America. You worry about that instead of the dyin' kids in Gaza," Neil writes. "That's your problem. I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us. You shut down FEMA when we needed it most. That's your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made."

Now, all of a sudden, he's inviting Trump out to a concert?!

Neil Young Invites Donald Trump Out on His Summer Tour

Recently, Young posted on his website with the title, "Wake Up America!" There, he invites all of his fans to come to his tour this summer to celebrate America. However, he explicitly states it won't be a political show. Instead, he just wants to emphasize the values that makes the country great. Then, Neil invites President Trump at the end because he knows he was a fan.

"When I tour the USA this summer, if there is not martial law by then which would make it impossible, let's all come together and stand for American values," Neil writes. "We will not be doing a political show. We will be playing the music we love for all of us to enjoy together. President Trump, you are invited. Come and hear our music just as you did for decades... We are proud to be who we are, and must never let our government forget it."

Maybe I'm too cynical but I don't think it's going to change Trump's mind or the government's way of thinking either. Alas, I can't knock Neil Young too much for trying to speak some sense into people.
