It isn't lost on Travis Kelce that when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium this Sunday, there won't be anything to play for.

That's right. For the first time in more than a decade, the Red and Gold will take the field with nothing at stake: no playoff ranking, no home-field advantage. This game has no bearing on the postseason for either team.
That's because the Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention when they lost to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. To add to the sting, quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a devastating ACL injury.
But if you expect the 36-year-old Kelce to whine about the team's current situation, then you have another thing coming.
Travis Kelce Calls the Team's Situation "Unfamiliar Territory"
On the latest episode of New Heights, the podcast Travis co-hosts with his brother, Jason, the two discussed what's next for the Chiefs.
"It's kind of unfamiliar territory at this point for a lot of guys in the building," explained Travis. "I'm the only one that's been on the team long enough to see us not make the playoffs or to play a game that you didn't have a future for during the season. And it's obviously f****d up, but it's a new feeling."
It didn't take long for Travis to get choked up about playing out the rest of the season.
"There's an integrity thing here that when you sign up for the gig," he says, trying not to get emotional. "You're living out your dreams. You're living out a kid's dream that never got a chance to do this."
Travis added, "You're playing this game, obviously, to win Super Bowls... But at the end of the day, you're playing in the NFL and that's a f***ing blessing."
What's Next For Kelce?
You may have heard that Travis will soon be getting married to his billionaire girlfriend, Taylor Swift. He also has an amusement park empire to run.
But there's always speculation that the tight end is getting ready to hang up his cleats. No word yet on his plans for 2026.
