Oliver Anthony is historically known as a bit of a recluse. I mean, he got his start howling his songs somewhere out in the woods. He's incredibly vocal about disdain for celebrity, how the music industry is basically for suckers. It came to the point where he was announcing his intentions to pivot to ministry work instead. However, when the opportunity arose to perform at Joe Rogan's comedy club, he didn't wait long to bite on it.

Not long ago, Oliver announced his intentions to perform at the Comedy Mothership in Austin, Texas. He said that he would hang with the massive podcaster and would do "their first music show ever." However, what could've been just another gig turned out being something much bigger. Recently, Anthony revealed on his Instagram that it wasn't just an ordinary performance. The crew recorded the event to be distributed as a live album. "The Mothership live album recording was a success!" he captions his post.

Additionally, Rogan himself shared a recording of the proceedings. Obviously, he expresses how much he enjoyed himself for the first musical outing at his comedy club. "Last night my brother (Oliver Anthony) performed at (the Comedy Starship), and it was glorious. This was our first weekend with a musical performer and it was really amazing," he writes for his post.
This performance from Anthony doubles as an opportunity to share some music after a quiet period of not releasing. He admits this upon the initial announcement of the event. He profusely thanks all of his fans for sticking around despite the slight drought. "I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me. I know I haven't put a lot of music out since 'Richmond'", Oliver says. "To be honest, I've spent the past 6 months trying to reverse all the mistakes I made with my business the first year and a half, so I wanna start actually having some fun.
