Simon Cowell is known for being one the harsher judges on American Idol. But that's not the reason Paula Abdul claims she was left permanently damaged by him.

From 2002 to 2009, Abdul was the only female judge on the show alongside Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. She held her own, contributing a lot of her expertise in the industry to the show. Throughout her years on American Idol, she saw many contestants realize their dreams.
However, one thing still remains with the singer, dancer, and choreographer. Speaking to Fox News Digital, she said, "Being the only woman on the panel, I had to overcome the guy on the left of me. Starts with a 'S' and ends with 'imon' and the left side of my brain is permanently damaged with a British accent." I can sympathize.
Having to sit next to Simon Cowell has resulted in a permanent English accent nattering away for Paula Abdul. Eight years of Simon Cowell is something nobody should have to put up with. I feel for her.
High Praise For New American Idol Contestants From Paula Abdul
The new generation of American Idol judges is well underway with the new season. Paula Abdul has nothing but praise for Carrie Underwood as she makes her way through her first season, cutting her teeth with this year's hopefuls.
"Carrie has an unbelievable advantage, having come from her humble beginning of being on the show," Paula Adbul praised. Furthermore, she said, "She was such a magnificent artist as a contestant, and she's gone on to have the most stellar career. She comes back, and she's giving back as well. She's doing a great job."
Despite what Paula Abdul thinks of Simon Cowell, he knows the industry well. During her time on the show, Cowell was able to make a rather astute prediction about her future. While she was still a contestant, he told her, "I will make a prediction. Not only will you win this show, you will sell more records than any other previous Idol winner."
I wonder if he could have predicted that she would end up singing for the President of the United States?
