TMZ strikes again on the case, sharing a few 911 calls that they had obtained. They were the first to flag the initial incident, reporting that country musician Conner Smith had struck 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins.

He was travelling down 3rd Avenue, Tennessee, in his black Chevy Silverado before hitting Dobbins in the evening of June 8. She later passed in the Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Police shared it didn't look as though Conner Smith was distracted, intoxicated, or on his phone. He was cooperative and remained on scene.

It seems many others were also present, as a slew of 911 calls were made about the incident. And one of them provides more insight into the state of Dobbins right after being struck.

"They have [Dobbins] sitting up in the street now in front of the car," one caller detailed. All three callers were very calm and informative, but only one made note of this detail.

It is unclear whether Dobbins managed to sit herself upright by herself, or whether bystanders or Conner Smith himself helped her into a seating position. Considering how she later passed, and considering the severity of the incident, it's likely she was sat upright by bystanders in an effort to assist her.

Conner Smith Stepping Down From Music Following Fatal Road Accident

Following the incident, Conner Smith's attorney shared a message to TMZ. "On June 8th, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life. His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins' family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation."

He has cancelled a bunch of upcoming performances in light of the investigation. I can't imagine the toll the incident has had on him, so I imagine he'll be staying away from music for a small while as he recovers.

Conner Smith is remaining cooperative with the police on this matter, and no charges have yet been made against him.
