Scotty McCreery Drops A Brand-New Single With Hootie & The Blowfish

Scotty McCreery has a brand-new single, out now. The 31-year-old just released "Bottle Rockets," a song that features Hootie & the Blowfish's debut single, "Hold My Hand," out in 1994, one year after McCreery was born.

"This song takes me back to those summers of having fun with no responsibilities with good times and good tunes," McCreery says of "Bottle Rockets." "For me growing up in the Carolinas, Hootie & the Blowfish were just massive and such a huge part of great summers growing up. That's what this song 'Bottle Rockets' is about."

McCreery's new single is likely from a new album. His last single was "Fall of Summer," from his 2024 Rise & Fall record.

Scotty McCreery's 'Seasons Change: Platinum Edition'

McCreery is likely excited about new music. But the Grand Ole Opry member is also taking a trip down memory lane, with a vinyl release of his 2018 Seasons Change record. Seasons Change: Platinum Edition will be out on June 20. The record includes four bonus acoustic tracks, with "In Between," "Five More Minutes," "This Is It" and "Still."

"The Seasons Change album was truly life-changing for me," McCreery says of the record, first released in 2018. "After experiencing both some career highs and lows, I was starting over. For the first time, I co-wrote all the songs and felt like the project was truly me. It has been both gratifying and confidence-building to see how the fans, radio and streaming have embraced the music from this album and me.

"I'm a guy who loves to look back," he continues. "And I celebrate the release of this new expanded edition and all the accomplishments we've made since the original album came out, while also looking ahead to making new dreams come true."

"Five More Minutes" might be McCreery's most career-changing, but his most personal is "This Is It," written about the birth of his son, Avery.

"The minute Avery was born, I just felt a different kind of love," McCreery tells Billboard. "Seeing your kid for the first time, I'd never felt that feeling before. If you go back and look at the caption of the Instagram post I did after Avery was born, that was the caption — 'Never known a love like this.' This is my daddy song to Avery, and every time I listen to it, it still gets me choked up a little bit."
