Security guards are having a tough time staying out of the news lately. From Dylan Marlowe's altercation with a security guard at his festival last week, to Jelly Roll's security guard quitting on the spot, it seems like these guys can't catch a break.

Just this week, at the North Dakota State Fair, Jelly Roll played a set for a large crowd, and plenty of security were present to keep the audience in check. However, there was one with "a heart of gold" who got fired by a supervisor trying to bend the rules for a certain concertgoer.
TikTok user Michelle Mulligan captured a video of the moments leading up to the interaction between the security guard and his boss. The video shows a security guard in an orange vest waving his arm to the music, and in the caption, Michelle provides details about what happened after she stopped recording.
A young man in a wheelchair had moved up in front of the barricade so that he could see Jelly Roll's performance of "Smoke Section." Usually, audience members are instructed to stay behind these barriers so that they don't overwhelm the performer or put themselves in an unsafe position. However, no one had asked him to move, probably because it would have been difficult for him to get a good view of the concert otherwise.
That was, of course, until a supervisor instructed the security guard closest to Michelle to have the man move behind the barrier. After refusing to do so out of consideration, the supervisor fired the security guard, according to Mulligan. Frustrated, the security guard took off his orange vest, threw it at the supervisor, and said he was quitting.
Luckily, No One Had To Move
After his exit, the supervisor attempted to get a replacement to do the same, but he said, "he couldn't do that." The man in the wheelchair ended up being able to stay put for the rest of the show, and Mulligan even got a video of him enjoying another song from the set, "I Am Not Okay."
People in the comments of Mulligan's video were praising the security guard for taking a stand, saying, "Hopefully, Jelly Roll and Bunny show up for this guy." Users filled the comment section of the video with support for the officer, tagging the singer and his wife. So, Jelly Roll, if you're seeing this, show this guy some love!
