Shaboozey Opens Up About His Sweet Friendship With Post Malone

Likely no one could have predicted the success both Shaboozey and Post Malone have in country music right now. Both men had hits in the pop world before switching to country music, where they have also had success. But for Shaboozey and Post Malone, their friendship goes back long before they were houshold names.

"I've known Post since 2016," Shaboozey shares on Country Countdown USA. "He believed in me pretty early. We reconnected last year at the back of Roberts in Nashville. I was filming a video for 'Bar Song' at Roberts. Somebody told me Post was there, too. I gave him a big hug, and who would know that we'd both be going back and forth on the chart."

Back and forth on the chart, indeed. Shaboozey currently has the No.1. song in the country with "Good News." The song is from his 2024 Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going album. "Good News" comes after "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" became Shaboozey's first No. 1 single at country radio.

"It was an interesting way to go," Shaboozey explains. "I felt it was the song the world needed to hear. The whole world is looking at you, and you follow with something like that. To see it doing well, finding it's home, it's amazing."

Shaboozey also hints he has a collaboration in the works with Morgan Wallen.

Shaboozey Is Overwhelmed By His Success In Country Music

No one is likely more surprised by his success in country music than Shaboozey. The 30-year-old began releasing music in 2018, never imagining he would one day have back-to-back hits at country radio.

"It's been a dream come true," Shaboozey admits. "It feels a little like destiny. I've been doing this a long time. People told me I was meant to be doing this. So to now have people say 'I knew that guy was going to do something,' is the most exciting part. To find my purpose and live out that story."

Shaboozey is fully committed to country music. So much so, he recently purchased a house just outside of Nashville.

"I bought a house," he reveals. "It's beautiful. The good news is I found a place a little outside of the city. When I got there, I said, 'This is what moving to Nashville is supposed to be about.' I feel I found my little piece of paradise. Hopefully, a lot of memories will be made there."
