A lot of artists got backlash for their decisions to play at the inauguration, including Snoop Dogg who previously lambasted anyone who chose to perform for Trump.

Since his performance at the inauguration ball, Snoop Dogg has lost over half a million followers. This is for more reasons than just his performance, too. In total, Snoop lost 500,000 on Instagram, and 20,000 on X.

Although many people didn't like the fact that Snoop performed at the inauguration, a lot of it comes down to hypocrisy. Back in 2017, before Trump got elected for the first time, Snoop spoke out to his followers about the man, criticizing anyone who decided to stand behind him.

"So ain't nobody gonna perform for Donald Trump huh... Which one of you... are going to be the first one to do it? I'll roast the f**k outta you." Technically, Snoop wasn't the first to perform for Trump, but his inauguration performance was hypocritical anyway.

Snoop Dogg can't throw shade out like that and then go back on his word without losing a few followers. You have to wonder why he would make such a 180. Was it financial? Was it because of an alignment of views? Whatever the reason, people don't respect that kind of disrespect.

Followers Speak Out About The Snoop Dogg Betrayal

After his decision to play at the inauguration ball, followers reached out to Snoop online. A lot of the responses were simply confused. Why would he say all that just a few years back, and now decide to play? It's not like Trump has changed in any way.

"Shucking and jiving for acceptance and approval by people who talk about them behind their back. Classic!" says one disgruntled X user. Some online agree that the reasons must be for some kind of presidential favor, rather than an alignment of morals.

Many of the loyal followers of Snoop wanted to know what happened to change his mind. "This s--t so wild? what changed? The price was right I guess. Y'all better treat him like Chrisette Michele." I don't think anyone is going to get an answer though.
