She was the wife of George Moran and the mother of two young children. Schlossberg was also the sister of Jack and Rose Schlossberg. Her parents are Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg. Schlossberg was educated at Yale University and the University of Oxford.

Schlossberg Announced Her Terminal Illness Last Month

In a poignant essay titled "A Battle with My Blood" that was published by The New Yorker, Schlossberg went public at length with her extremely serious medical situation. The essay was released on the 62nd anniversary of President Kennedy's assassination, which was November 22, 2025.

Schlossberg disclosed that she was diagnosed with a rare mutation of acute myeloid leukemia. Reading her words now is almost unbearably sad. Her immense dignity and courage are heartbreakingly evident. You cannot help but ask yourself why the Kennedy family has had to go through so much grief, so much loss, and shed so many tears. Now, there will be even more.

Schlossberg wrote the following with searing clarity. "For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry. Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family's life, and there's nothing I can do to stop it."

A Dynasty Beset by Tragedy

As most people are aware, the Kennedys have endured many terrible losses. There were the assassinations of President Kennedy and his brother, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, less than five years apart. Caroline Kennedy's brother, John Jr., perished in a plane crash with his wife and sister-in-law. Former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis lost her battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1994.
