Luke Combs is one of the biggest names in country music. That is inarguable. But you may not be familiar with The Moffatts and the connection one of them has with the wildly popular country music icon. Per Whiskey Riff, "The group of four brothers - one older brother named Scott and triplets named Bob, Clint, and Dave - formed the band (with help from their father) in 1987 while living in British Columbia, Canada. They then got to making music, and had put together and released three country albums by 1996." The band signed on with a big-time recording label, Polydor Nashville. After being solely country, they dabbled in pop. They eventually threw in the towel on their musical act in 2001.

But let me make my point here. One of the Moffatt brothers, Scott, now 41, became a producer who was associated with two of Luke Combs' albums - What You See Is What You Get and This One's for You.

They Achieved A Lot At A Staggeringly Young Age
Per Scott Moffatt's web site, "The Moffatts would go on to sell 6 million records world-wide, record 7 albums, win MTV and MUCH Music awards, host the JUNO's and perform over 5,000 concerts all by the time they were 17 years old."
The Luke Combs Albums That Scott Moffatt Produced Were Successful
They Got Good Reviews And Stood The Test Of Time - And Scott Moffatt Helped
In a review of What You See Is What You Get, Rolling Stone said, "Since releasing his debut single 'Hurricane' in 2015, the burly North Carolina singer Luke Combs has ascended to the very top of commercial country music." Laudatory words from one of our premier music publications!
As for the other Scott Moffatt-produced album Combs did, This One's for You, it was the singer's first studio album, released in 2017. It perched at the pinnacle of the Top Country Albums chart for almost a whole year, an incredible feat.
So although the name Scott Moffatt may not ring a bell of familiarity with you, he has had a key influence on the career of the remarkable Luke Combs.
