Brad Pitt delivered a message to all Americans, inviting all to "huddle up" in a Super Bowl ad filled with patriotism. However, many users online were not having any of it. Not because what Pitt said was wrong or taboo, but because it was Pitt himself who was featured in the ad itself.

Before the several less-than-positive reactions were posted by several users online, Pitt's message attempted to bring everyone together.
"By lifting others, that's how we rise up," Pitt says, as the Super Bowl ad starts. "We, the people. Today we come together, not just these players or couches, or these teams and sides. We, all of us, the dreamers, the warriors, the builders and believers"
Pitt would continue to draw similarities between football and Americans getting together and putting aside their differences.
"Brought together to celebrate our greatest game," Pitt continued. "The game that teaches us what we can achieve when we gather together. In that most American of formations. The one most fundamental to every play call in every game"
Finally, Brad Pitt invited everyone to huddle up after calling the football huddle a "metaphor for our history, for the power found in our shared purpose." "It's time for America to huddle up. It's time for the Super Bowl!" Pitt concluded.
Pitt Roasted
While many were appreciative of Pitt's words, many users were particularly vocal online, criticizing Pitt extensively. Some were just not fans of what they described as a very long commercial, while others took digs at Pitt over his relationship with his family and his divorce from Angelina Jolie.
"Can someone please let Brad Pitt know he's sincerely not THAT great of an actor... longest commercial ever," one user wrote. "Why is Brad Pitt preaching to me about hope, didn't he beat his kids," a second user wrote. "If 'the huddle' is a metaphor for America, as Brad Pitt says, then "the fumble" is a metaphor for America electing Trump," a third one said.
Overall, not the greatest Super Bowl commercial reception of the night. Contrary to what Rocket Mortgage brought to the table. With a touching ad featuring John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads," the Super Bowl crowd joined together in a singalong that left many emotional and in tears.
