While most celebrities shave their head for professional reasons, like for a new acting role, McGraw's team says that isn't the case at all. In fact, the surprisng reason McGraw did shave his head is simply because he wanted to!
The fact that McGraw shaved his head is surprising. But the fact that he isn't wearing a hat is even more surprising. In almost every photo of McGraw, including the recent one with his wife Faith Hill when he was overseas watching his daughter Audrey perform, McGraw is wearing a hat. Perhaps the 58-year-old is indeed turning over a new leaf.

Tim McGraw Returns To Performing Following Multiple Surgeries
McGraw is ready to return to performing, after recovering from multiple surgeries. The father of three will perform at Bristol Speedway on August 2. That show will be followed by his Field of Dreams concert, taking place on August 30 in Iowa.
McGraw played the Music City Rodeo at the end of May, which was apparently too soon. He subsequently canceled a scheduled performance at the Professional Bull Riders' Last Cowboy Standing Event, held on July 21 at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. McGraw was replaced by Cross Canadian Ragweed. The reason given was that McGraw was still recovering from back surgery.
In addition to the back surgery, McGraw also had neck surgery and surgery on both knees.
"The worst part for me is I'm terrible at sitting still. ... During the tour, the back started going cattywampus on me," the husband of Faith Hill reveals on Audacy. "And in about three weeks in the tour, my knees went out. So I had to do the whole tour with my knee shot, my back shot."
McGraw admits he had trouble being still while recovering. Fortunately, McGraw seems to definitely be back. He has a tour calendar full for the remainder of 2025. See the dates here.
