Two Songs That Luke Bryan Dedicated To His Late Siblings

While there are many Luke Bryan songs that have great meaning, two of them stand out among the rest. Luke Bryan decided to dedicate these two songs to his late siblings.

1. 'Songs You Never Heard'

Luke Bryan's brother, Chris Bryan, died in a car accident in 1996. While it may have been years since his passing, Luke proved that you never stopping missing those you love. Three years ago the country music star released Songs You Never Heard, an emotional dedication to his late sibling.

The song is a walk down memory lane, discussing music the brothers used to listen to together. As well as Luke emphasizing that there are things happening in his life now that make him think of his brother. The emotional song tugs at the heartstrings and reminds everyone to cherish those moments with your loved ones now.

Catcountry.com shares some of Luke Bryan's thoughts on this song he dedicated to his late sibling. He shared, "I've written songs through the years that really talk about me losing my brother, but I don't think any one of them is as good as how this one describes who he was." From there the star shares that he wishes Chris was around to react to his career in country music.

2. 'Drink A Beer'

Luke Bryan's Drink A Beer reached No.1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart on Feb. 15, 2014. The singer dedicated this song to two of his late siblings who passed. Chris Bryan, who passed away in a car accident, and Kelly Bryan who passed away from unknown causes. The song was co-written by Jim Beavers and Chris Stapleton and it describes the narrator's feelings upon learning about the death of a loved one.

To help cope with the pain, the narrator does what many good country fans do, cracks open a beer. While the lyrics are touching, Luke Bryan and his personal connection to the song helped shape it into the major success that it was. Taste Of Country shares that he debuted the song during a performance at the 2013 CMA Awards, dedicating it to his siblings' memory. While he performed "a picture of all three of them appeared on the screen behind him with the inscription, 'In Memory of Chris & Kelly.'"
