We Have A New Florida Georgia Line On Our Hands With Bottomland (Exclusive)

We suddenly have a legendary country duo in the making with Bottomland. They've come out of nowhere, but they're here to stay, and everyone thinks so.

When I say Bottomland came out of nowhere, I really mean nowhere. They already have a song with over a million listens and are sitting on almost 200,000 monthly listens. And their discography? Not even two months old.

With three songs and 1,000,000+ listens in two months, the Bottomland duo has had breakout success. Their song "Over You, Over It" received immense overnight support online. Seeing how much their song blew up on TikTok, they changed their plans and cut that song first.

They have only been posting on TikTok since late December last year, so the band has existed only a little longer than their first single.

I spoke to the brains behind Bottomland to get a better sense of what's going on here. I don't think I've seen anyone become this popular in this short a time frame.

Bottomland Hasn't Been Around For Long, But The Brains Behind It Has

Bottomland is composed of two artists that have been in the game for a while, Cannon Brand and Justin Lane Gates.

When I asked their story, they answered that they've "both been playing music and writing songs and planning shows, and all that, for the better part of ten years separately."

The Texas natives had only met each other five years ago. They starting writing songs together and playing shows together, but as separate artists.

"We've been doing it professionally for a long time. We had varying levels of success, nothing crazy, right?" they recalled. "We kind of kicked the idea [of being a duo] around, you know, here and there, and never really done anything about it."

Bottomland isn't just some social media fad. They've been ready for this moment for a while. "We decided to take all of our past experiences... from all of our solo stuff and apply it to Bottomland from the very beginning."

"We were ready, and serious... to put in the work to continue to succeed," they said. "Not just have a moment, then die."

So although the duo itself is only some months old, they're bringing a decade of experience to the table. They may have never been breakout artists individually, but it appears that they're stronger together.

After mulling over the idea of making a duo, they finally decided to bite the bullet and see where it went. Only months later, they went super viral on TikTok. And the rest will be history.

Thankfully, the duo plan to release new music soon, and even told me about an album in the works... So if you like what you hear, keep your eyes peeled. They've been in the studio relentlessly and can't wait to throw out more Bottomland gems.
