Willie Nelson had to end a show in Salt Lake City on Sunday night (Aug. 13) early, later telling fans that "The altitude just got to me."

Fans who were at the show said he was obviously having a hard time breathing while performing at the USANA Amphitheater
According to fans in attendance, halfway through the sixth song of his set, the singer said, "I need a break" and left the stage. He did not return to the performance.
The singer himself took to Facebook this morning though to reassure fans that he is indeed still not dead. Nelson stated, "I am feeling a lot better now and headed for lower ground."

Nelson suffered some health setbacks in February that forced him to cancel several shows. He has had stem-cell therapy on his lungs in the past to help deal with the damage done by decades of smoking, so it's not surprising that the 84-year-old singer would be affected by a higher altitude than he's used to in his home state of Texas.
