Earlier this month, we reported on Jayme Lee's lawsuit against Billy Ray Cyrus, in which she claimed to be Miley Cyrus's biological mother.

In the suit, filed in May 2025, Lee stated that Billy Ray adopted a child (Miley) she gave birth to on Nov. 23, 1992, when she was only 12 years old. As part of the agreement, she would retain naming rights and visitation.
This agreement suggests Billy Ray is not Miley's biological father. Lee requested DNA testing for both Billy Ray and Miley to prove her claim.
What Else Did This Lawsuit Against Billy Ray Cyrus Claim?
She also requested that Dolly Parton be added to the suit. The "Jolene" singer is alleged to have played a role in Billy Ray adopting the child. She also claimed that Sharon Osbourne, Hillary Clinton, Neil Patrick Harris, and Julia Roberts expressed interest in adopting her child.
Lee alleges that the Cyrus family cut off all contact between her and Miley after the "adoption." This caused "severe emotional distress." She accused Billy Ray and Tish of fraud, misrepresentation, breach of contract, and interference with parental rights.
On Dec. 5, 2025, Lee's suit was dismissed with prejudice, preventing her from refiling the lawsuit.
Now the Woman Is Speaking Out
Lee recently spoke to the Daily Mail on Sunday about her experience. She claimed that while growing up in Ruidoso, N.M., she was trafficked by a local gang associated with a drug cartel.
While pregnant, she attempted to run away from her captors several times. She said that she knew she wanted "to protect" her child "at all costs."
"I specifically picked the name Miley as soon as I realized I was pregnant because of all the miles I had traveled [while being trafficked]," Lee shared. "I wanted a name that was one of a kind that could be linked back to me, specifically," she added.
Cyrus' real name is Destiny Hope. Miley has said that her stage name was inspired by her childhood nickname "Smiley." She eventually shortened it.
Lee also shared that while Roberts, Harris, and the other stars listed in her suit were nice to her, they didn't take her up on her offer.
She also claimed that she found her lawyer through the Kardashians. She allegedly knew them because they owned a property near her grandparents' home in Jamul, California. Page Six says there is no record of the reality star family owning a property there.
Lee Says That Her Story About Miley Cyrus "Does Seem Weird"
Lee explained that her decision to speak now was triggered by flashbacks following her return to Ruidoso. During this time, she checked into a facility in Tucson, Arizona, and was diagnosed with PTSD.
She tried reaching out to Miley through lawyers and reported her trafficking to the police, saying she "never could get anybody to take it seriously."
"And if anything, I ended up suffering really terrible consequences from trying to get them to look into it," she told the outlet.
Lee wants Miley to take a DNA test to prove she's her birth mom, but is not trying to "take away anything" from Miley and Tish's relationship.
"I never wanted to involve Miley," she added. "But she's evidence — the evidence I have to show that I was sex trafficked and had a baby because of it."
While Lee says the story "does seem weird," she adds that "the truth is crazy sometimes. I didn't choose it."
