In a large saucepan stir together the sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Turn the heat to medium-high and do not stir. Cook until sugar turns an amber color, about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in butter, heavy whipping cream, and bourbon. Pour into a heat-proof container and serve along with apple wedges.
Notes
When making the caramel make sure not to stir, as tempting as it may be! Stirring the sugar will make it crunchy.
We like to use a crisp apple like Granny Smith to dip.
Perfect Pairing
Serve this Caramel Apple Dip with a slice of Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie.
