'Yellowstone' Star Talks About New Spinoff Show

Yeah, that's right. For all you Yellowstone fans out there, stressed that it's over; fear not. The universe is just getting started. In fact, another spinoff of the hit series is coming this Fall 2025! It is called Y: Marshals and is spearheaded by none other than Luke Grimes. That's right, the one and only Kayce Dutton is making his return. And I, for one, am absolutely amped.

Welcome Back To 'Yellowstone'

Now, obviously, this show is bigger than any one man. But my goodness, was Kayce Dutton an electric part of the original series? I mean, come on now, he had everything! He had the grit, he was brooding, he was strong, he was a freaking Navy SEAL. This dude was the total package, and it made too much sense that the fans fell in love with him so fast.

Now we don't know much about the new show, but we do know some. It will be directed by Spencer Hudnut. If you don't immediately know who that is, it's ok. But he created SEAL Team. Which is very exciting news. Hopefully, that means we'll lean into some of the backstory teased in Yellowstone.

The show will also air on CBS, with the first season slated to have 13 episodes. Hopefully, that means they'll be slightly longer for us, especially with how TV has been trending recently. But you never know.

Now, apparently, the show is meant to focus on a new chapter in Kayce's life. He's joining up with U.S. Marshals. But don't take my word for it. The man himself sat down with Mens Journal and chatted.

Luke Grimes On His New Show

When asked how his new show differs from Yellowstone, he had both a lot and a little to say. (Makes sense, I'm sure there's only so much he can say.)

He starts off by chatting about how, "Yellowstone obviously made the end of Kayce's story so perfect. He sort of gets what he always wanted, which is family, his own little slice of heaven, and he gets to be cowboying every day." Which, again, is very fair. How do you motivate a man who just won what he always wanted?

But Grimes thinks they did a good job. He went on to say, "We had to find the reason why, and we finally did, and I think we had to make it make sense; otherwise, I wasn't going to do it just to do it." And if Luke's excited about it, then so am I.
