Zach Bryan Lands Massive $350 Million Record & Publishing Deals

We finally have some clarification on what Zach Bryan will do musically in the future. Not long ago, he was pitching around the idea of retiring from the music industry and going into hiding for the foreseeable future. Now, after making bank off of a record label, it seems like he's sticking around, at least for a little longer.

Recently, Variety reported that Bryan has renewed his deal with Warner Records. Additionally, he's sold or currently selling his publishing catalog to a separate group, all to a staggering total of $350 million. Apparently, the label and his team had been grappling over the details for some time. Additionally, Universal desperately threw their hat in the ring for a bid. But in the end, Warner came out on top, leaving Zach on the hook for "at least two albums."

So what does this all mean for Zach Bryan's music career? Didn't he say that he was only doing one "final" major label album? It's still plausible that this is the case. He could theoretically release a project under Warner and alter the labeling. Call it a mixtape or whatever else. But it could be lower stakes in comparison to one last big mission statement. Bryan also could very easily have a change of heart after seeing the eye-popping price point for his music.

At the very least, he's transparent about taking a hiatus from touring life. Netting $350 million will certainly ease the lack of revenue from not performing. Regardless, whatever his next project is, it'll be a big spectacle. Bryan has Matthew McConaughey on the hook for a film surrounding the album titled Motorbreath. "This is not a film about a band, this is a film about a boy from Oklahoma. A boy who joined the Navy, with a love of writing. That writing connected with people, a lot of people," McConaughey says in a voice note. "This film is about a group of best friends taking a two-week motorcycle ride across America, while recording one final major label album."
