Zach Bryan posted a picture with Donald Trump to his Instagram story with a caption that made him swiftly delete the picture over a misunderstanding.

A huge Eagles fan, the singer attended the Super Bowl to watch his team face off against the Chiefs with some friends, including comedian Shane Gillis. President Donald Trump also attended, and the three of them got to meet.
That's when Zach Bryan did what may be the most controversial thing he could have done. Not only did he post a picture of himself with Donald Trump (and Gillis) to his story, but he captioned it "the actual smallest man." That is quite the reference, but at face value, simply looked like he was insulting the president.
Zach Bryan Explains "Smallest Man" Post With Donald Trump
The singer made another story after deleting the photo, explaining that he was actually referring to himself as the smallest man. He is not a tall dude, and Gillis and Trump did tower over him.
Bryan has never expressed his political beliefs, although posing for a photo with the president does say a lot. It's possible that he's simply being respectful of the most powerful man in the country, however. Many are brought up to respect the president, no matter whether they support their policies or not.
Either way, it's down now. No matter how you slice it, however, at the end of the day, the post was another sly dig at his past relationship. And if everything is to be believed, that'll rub many the wrong way.
"Smallest man" is a reference to a diss track made against him by Dave Portnoy with the same name, made against him after Bryan's breakup with Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia. Their breakup was public and messy, and Chickenfry told the world of how toxic a boyfriend he was after allegedly refusing $12 million worth of hush money.
Bryan never really weighed in on the breakup drama, making sure to keep it at arm's length. Only a few times did he taunt his ex on social media, and here he is doing it again, albeit in a very strange way. Just by referencing the diss track is he making light of it, and by extension the awful relationship they had.
So yeah, not a great picture nor caption by any standards.
