Zach Top really, really wants to see his fans. The rising star just kicked off his Cold Beer & Country Music headlining tour on January 16, and admits some fans weren't happy when his tour dates sold out so fast.

"When we announced it, everything sold out so dang fast," Top says on the Rodeo Time podcast (via Whiskey Riff.) "I think we underestimated the demand there was for tickets. It almost kind of got some people a little angry about it. It's like we didn't give enough people a chance to come see me."
Top's debut Cold Beer & Country Music album came out last April. The Washington native had already been performing live, but was pleasantly surprised at how quickly even more fans latched onto his pure country sound.
"{It] kind of feels like when we put the first record out, back in April last year, felt like that was a big turning point," he says. "And all of a sudden, everything was selling out, and we couldn't play anywhere without it being packed out."
Future Tour Plans
Fortunately, fans who weren't able to get tickets to see him over the next several weeks will get another chance.
"We are going to do another tour in the fall, where we'll play some bigger venues and stuff," Top says. "Do some small arenas and stuff like that. So, we'll keep coming back around. Folks need not worry. This ain't a one-and-done thing. We're going to be around for 40 years, hopefully. Cross my fingers."
For Top, his favorite part about his career is the ability to make music, music he loves to then perform for others.
"One of my favorite parts of the process of making music is getting to create it yourself," Top tells Billboard. "It makes a little more of an intimate connection with the song when it's coming from something you lived and you make something universal out of it."
Top has made a name for himself with his traditional-sounding music. It's a reputation the "I Never Lie" singer is proud to stand behind.
"Three chords and the truth are necessary. A fiddle and steel guitar never hurt. But it's songs that make people feel something and something that's got a story to it. That's what I love about country music — songs that make me feel understood, no matter what stage of life I'm in."
