It's hard to hide when you are one of the hottest young country music stars around. Zach Top found that out recently. Per Whiskey Riff, "...Top has, without a doubt, become the genre's new 'it' artist." What got him to the summit? A sizzling freshman album, earning kudos from his illustrious country music peers, and being crowned New Male Artist by the ACM all helped.

Of course, like everything else in life, there is a downside to fame. Part of that is the inevitable loss of privacy. The media and the public can be very intrusive, even if it's mostly well-meaning. Top discovered that when he visited a Bass Pro Shop recently. Happily for him, he was amused by the fans' friendly overtures.
Top Talked About How He Handles Fame
The "Use Me" singer was a guest on The Bobby Bones Show and among other things, he discussed the way being famous affects him. "It's still fun for me... I still get a kick out of it if someone recognizes me in an airport or grocery store or something, it's still pretty fun for me." It's great that he can patiently accept the way fans can sometimes be a little bit much.
For example, Top was at a Bass Pro Shop wearing an outfit that can best be termed ultra casual. He was clad in shorts, white socks, and Crocs. Not exactly Western gear, eh? And definitely not a get-up fit for a music star!
He Was Unexpectedly Identified by Well-Wishers
He said, "I was in full relaxation, day off/off-of-the-road mode. And I was wearing a pair of cut-off jeans that were way too short and white socks that were up to my calf and camouflage Crocs, wandering through there in my ball cap and sunglasses [and] thinking I was gonna breeze through there. Sure enough, there's a bunch of people [who'd] come up and ask to take a picture. I was like, 'Great. Well, this is how I wanna be remembered by people in my white socks and camo Crocs.'"
It will be interesting to see how Zach Top reacts in the future as his career gets bigger and bigger, as does his fan base!
