It's known that Willie Nelson is a pretty damn good (and hilarious) actor alongside being a brilliant musician. As he's done so many films, however, there are bound to be some you didn't know he appeared in.

I've scoured the internet to find four films that you may not have known about, where ol' Willie either had a starring role or a surprise cameo.
Coming Out Of The Ice
Coming Out Of The Ice is a made-for-television 1982 film where Willie Nelson played a main role. He plays "Red" Loon in the biographical film about Victor Herman, an American who found himself confined in the Soviet gulag system.
Based on the trailer alone, you already know Willie Nelson played the role well.
Once Upon A Texas Train
Willie Nelson plays the leader of a gang in Once Upon A Texas Train. Becoming John Henry Lee, Nelson gets hunted by four rangers in the 1988 comedy action western, that's also bursting at the seams with other big western actors.
The full film is up on YouTube for your watching pleasure.
The Big Bounce
A huge change of pace now, to show Nelson's range, we've got The Big Bounce, released in 2004. The star-studded comedy romance heist film throws Willie Nelson in as Joe Lurie. It's a smaller role, but not one anyone expected.
He's not even in the trailer, so to know he starred in this film means you had to watch it. Unless you read it somewhere online first, that is...
Zoolander 2
Ahh, Zoolander 2. This is not a film you'd expect Willie Nelson to star in at all. But when you see his cameo, you can understand perfectly why he took it.
He appears as himself in a small and hilarious cameo. Zoolander 2 is not a serious film, and likely won't be up your street if you enjoy his earlier and western works. But I'm sure you can't say you knew he was in it.
Willie Nelson has done a lot of films, even more than Johnny Cash. Most of his earlier works are proper western films, but in his later life, he decided to take on more cameos or roles that were simply himself.
