With Kevin Costner out the way, Taylor Sheridan thought it was his time to shine in Yellowstone. But he was the last thing the viewers wanted to see.

We've discussed previously his ridiculous insertion in the penultimate episode of Yellowstone, where he thought his horse trainer character, Travis Wheatley, needed much more screen time. He also thought he needed Bella Hadid as his girlfriend, for some reason.
But his self-worship wasn't contained to just that episode. In fact, he decided to write himself pretty extensively into the second part of Season 5, taking up precious time and steering away the focus from other important plot beats.
In due fashion, the internet has ripped him to pieces for this.
One of my favorite comments on this issue is, "Some day I hope to find someone that loves me half as much as Taylor Sheridan loves himself. These final episodes of #yellowstone are so centered on him it's crazy and cringe at the same time."

Safe to say, Sheridan should have stayed in the shadows and let the plot that's been brewing since 2018 have the time and attention it needed to provide a satisfying end.
"Weird flex that Taylor Sheridan took 2 years to write these final episodes THAT CENTERS ON HIM! We don't care about Travis," a frustrated fan writes.
"Taylor Sheridan loves him some Taylor Sheridan!" another exclaims.
"Just turned into a Taylor Sheridan vanity project in the last 2 episodes. Wasn't a terrible finale but there weren't too many other ways the could go," one complained.
"That was truly god awful. Show had no idea where to go once Kevin left. Most bland final episodes ever. Taylor Sheridan trying to give himself as much screen time as possible is the cherry on top of the cringe fest of these last episodes. Officially ruined the show," another vented.
It seems his further insertion into the series is not what people wanted out of Yellowstone. Shocker.
