A writer for Saturday Night Live shared a hilarious Krispy Kreme meme in response to the Morgan Wallen SNL controversy. The 31-year-old country singer walked offstage at the end of the show instead of chatting with the cast or even saying goodbye. As the credits rolled, Wallen said a quick goodbye to the host, Mikey Madison, before shockingly walking off-camera.

At first glance, it seemed like he was eager to get out of there. This is despite being the show's musical guest that week to promote his upcoming album, I'm The Problem. Well, it seems like he may actually be the problem here.

Soon after his SNL performance, Wallen posted on his Instagram Story with the caption "Get Me Back To God's Country." This seemingly confirmed his quick exit from the comedy show, and it didn't take long for an SNL writer to joke about it.

Josh Patten, an SNL writer, shared his own Instagram Story of a Krisy Kreme truck with the same caption as Wallen. Despite the obvious poke at Wallen's post-show Instagram upload, Patten assured his followers that it was all in good fun.

In reply to this X post, someone shared some follow-up Instagram Stories from Patten reiterating his adoration for the singer. One Story had him share an eye-roll emoji to someone commenting, "Guessing Patten's not a Morgan Wallen fan?" Another had him sharing his favorite tracks from 2023 on Apple Music, which were practically all Morgan Wallen tunes.

It's no wonder that the internet is ablaze after the singer's strange exit. It's a tradition for the host and musical guest to hang around during the end credits. TMZ later learned from a source close to Wallen that there was nothing sinister behind him leaving like that.

Wallen allegedly "entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show." So it seems the music star would continue to head that way even during rehearsals.

If they wanted him to stick around they would've asked him to beforehand, right? I guess we won't know the truth unless Wallen or SNL speaks up about it.
