The singer was a guest on SNL, and after the show, simply walked off stage in a mega awkward fashion. This sparked a huge debate over whether it was intentional, scripted, or accidental. Whatever the case, what is certain is that his following online post exploded.

After his exit, he posted to his Instagram story of a private jet. He captioned the picture, "Get me to God's country," which either upset others or made them laugh. One thing is for sure, though: the internet has come after the post in full force.

Doing what the internet does best, people took to X to share their own renditions of this photo to poke fun at it.

A simple search on X will reveal and endless amount of "Get me to God's country" memes. The idea is to use his caption to regard a silly, outlandish, or hilarious location as "God's country," such as McDonald's, Chili's, or any other obscure place or establishment.

It's a hilarious series of memes, and they're a perfect response to the confusing controversy. Although the meme nature of the phrase has given Wallen and his team license to make official, actual merchandise using the phrase.

And no, it's not an April Fool's Day joke.

Morgan Wallen "God's Country" Memes Strike The Internet

My favorite "God's Country" meme has to be the one where the image is a small building that houses three fast-food joints at once. Very American, indeed.

You don't need to look hard to find loads more, either.

There has been lots of noise surrounding his SNL exit and subsequent post. Sources have said that it was a misunderstanding, but people online believe his abrupt exit to be disrespectful and rude. While everyone was hugging and mingling, he didn't look back as he obtusely walked right in front of the camera to leave.

Ideas of miscommunication have also been going around. It's been claimed that Wallen may have simply left the way he'd been practicing leading up to the show. A practiced and automatic exit, as he's always done. This theory is a little weaker but plausible.

Whatever his reason for leaving, I don't really care. The memes are pretty funny, though.
