Everybody wants a piece of Taylor Sheridan. I feel comfortable in declaring that he's the king of television. Yellowstone was such a massive hit, he spawned several spinoffs. He's rejuvenated careers by taking chances on veteran actors and taking chances on raw talent. Now, even the industry's elite are wanting in on the enterprise. For instance, Samuel L. Jackson is going to join the ranks with him and Paramount on a Tulsa King spinoff in New Orleans.

Through sheer consistency and a concrete vision for himself, Sheridan has built an empire. Sure, he absolutely lost some sleep along the way. It's to the point we should probably be at least a little concerned. "And he'll go three or four weeks in a row without sleeping and write. He'll just stop writing, and then he'll write, and then he'll stop writing, and then he'll write," Tim McGraw once said in an interview.
Now, another one of Hollywood's big actors wants to join the Yellowstone creator's vision.
Jon Bernthal Really Wants to Work With Taylor Sheridan on a Western
Recently, Jon Bernthal spoke with Boss Hunting about Sheridan's 2021 film Those Who Wish Me Dead. There, he reminisces on working with the Landman visionary and how much he clearly loves working with him. "I'll be honest with you, I'll do anything with Taylor. I love Taylor. As a filmmaker, as a human being, as an artist, he's as solid as they get. I love the guy," Bernthal says.
However, if there's a project in particular he really wants to do with Sheridan, it's a modern reworking of the 1953 western Shane. The synopsis sounds like something right up their alley. "Enigmatic gunslinger Shane (Alan Ladd) rides into a small Wyoming town with hopes of quietly settling down as a farmhand. Taking a job on homesteader Joe Starrett's (Van Heflin) farm, Shane is drawn into a battle between the townsfolk and ruthless cattle baron Rufus Ryker (Emile Meyer). Shane's growing attraction to Starrett's wife, Marian (Jean Arthur), and his fondness for their son Joey (Brandon de Wilde), who idolizes Shane, force Shane to realize that he must thwart Ryker's plan," it reads.
Sheridan has a penchant for these sorts of stories. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jon Bernthal got his wish.
