Less than a week ago, the 59-year-old actress hard-launched their relationship after posting an Instagram photo of them together. This also comes after reports claiming the Austin Powers actress helped Cyrus through his messy divorce with Firerose.

Billy Ray Cyrus Gushes About Relationship With Elizabeth Hurley

On the podcast, Cyrus called back to a random text message he received from his former co-star. Hurley and Cyrus played love interests in the 2022 movie Christmas in Paradise. "I felt like, 'Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?'" Said Cyrus.

"For me, at a certain point it was like, you can't get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you. And in this moment... a friend reached out." Hurley was the one to rekindle their relationship as Cyrus was struggling with the divorce.

Hurley's message said something like, "Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I'm in your corner; you've got a friend in your corner," as Cyrus recalled.

Funnily enough, Cyrus didn't even know who was behind the number. "So, I text back, I go, 'Who is this?' And it's like, 'Elizabeth Hurley,'" Cyrus explained. "Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most... this friend who made me laugh."

According to that recent report from The Sun, Hurley played a huge role in healing Cyrus through his toughest times. "He has had a really hard time, but she has been there helping him turn things around," the source said. "She insists he has turned a corner and is a changed man."

Cyrus hadn't spoken with Hurley for two years when they wrapped the shooting of the holiday film. Even so, the country singer felt that "chemistry" with Hurley from the start.

"We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn't laughing a lot," Cyrus admitted. "The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different."

Cyrus gushed about Hurley in the podcast, calling her "so impressively brilliant." He also mentioned that she reminded him a lot of Dolly Parton. "She's a very smart businesswoman," he continued. "If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything."
