'Hawk Tuah' Girl Haliey Welch Shares Regrets Over Crypto Scandal

The 'Hawk Tuah' crypto scandal still remains one of the more bizarre debacles in recent memory. Haliey Welch in the public sphere is a strange concept in general. Maybe people will never learn their lesson, that people will stubbornly engage with something dumb and bad forever. The power of outrage engagement will assure things we don't care about linger for far too long. But for a woman's suggestive sexual innuendo to transform into podcasting, television, and even cryptocurrency is mind boggling.

Still, Welch played her cards right. When the crypto thing blew up in her face in record timing, she handled it as well as you could. Sure, none of it was really her fault; her name and slogan was merely attached to a questionable situation. Still, Haliey let authorities handle everything and she suddenly vanished. Now, she's relaunched her podcast and has ownership of it now. Now, Welch is looking to put the mess behind her. But first, she wants to express her regrets to her audience.

Haliey Welch Feels Like She Let People Down With Crypto Scandal

Recently, Haliey spoke with Vanity Fair where she addressed the big elephant in the room: what the hell happened with that crypto stuff? Ultimately, she takes away a big lesson in one of her first big spats as a celebrity. "I see things a lot differently than I used to. My eyes are open a lot wider," Welch says. "Definitely be careful what you tie your name into and who you trust."

She could live with the fact she made a big dumb mistake. Really, Hailey just regrets that people that put their faith in her influence were let down. "I hate that that's even a thing," Welch sighs about the crypto scandal. "Half of those people that done it were, like, my fans. They trusted me, like, guiding them to it. And I don't know... It really hurt my feelings when it turned out the way it did. I wish it hadn't have happened."
