The Country Singer That Cody Jinks Says Went Out On A Limb For Him

It's not often you get artists looking out for one another in the industry. Usually, they reach a certain degree of fame and acclaim and they become a lot more insular. The last thing they could afford is for someone to come up and take their place. Any support still might stem from a self important position. However, Cody Jinks shares one massive country artist that looked out for him when no one else would acknowledge his work.

Recently, Cody appeared on the Jarrod Morris Vibe podcast to tackle his storied career in country. He talks about the importance of remaining independent and working completely divorced from the Nashville system. It's difficult to achieve any level of success without some form of support somewhere. Consequently, Jinks highlights how Luke Combs 'went out on a limb' to include him on his massive tour.

Cody Jinks Breaks Down How Luke Combs Looks Out for Other Country Acts

Cody really emphasizes just how massive of an artist Luke Combs is in the grand scheme of things. That's why he's as grateful as he is for including him on tour. "But Luke's one of those ones where people like 'you're on a stadium tour with Luke Combs? That's big Nashville,'" Jinks says. "I was like, 'Do you realize how big a set of balls Luke Combs has asking me to run direct support on a stadium tour? Do you understand in Nashville the ripples that created? People going, 'Holy crap, he's taking Jinks with him?'"

Cody continues by stressing how often he's gotten in trouble for outperforming the main acts. Usually, they end up kicking him off because of an ego thing. But Luke Combs feels like that's only more reason to have someone like Jinks on tour.

Additionally, Cody is quick to highlight that including him on Combs' tour put more money in his pocket than he's ever seen. Mix that with a real sincerity with others, Cody gives Luke his loyalty and commitment. And he freakin' put his money where his mouth is. We got paid more than any other direct support opener I've ever even heard of in my life. He flat out told me "Dude, anything you need, anything you want, we are so glad you are here.' His whole crew was that way," Jinks recalls.

"Just a gentleman and he's super kind. That's as big in Nashville, guys, as you can get, you know? No dude, I love that guy. That guy went out on a limb for me. You go out on a limb for me, bro, and I'm the dog that don't go away," Jinks adds.
