The Hilarious Reason Nick Saban Says He Would Consider Coaching Again

Nick Saban is apparently more anti-chore than he is pro-retirement.

Alright, I know what this sounds like, and I'm sure a lot of you will roll your eyes at this. Just let a boy dream, though!

Imagine Nick Saban back in the college football game? Just leading whichever school he goes to to a million national titles again? (Or one of the other billion accolades this man got at 'Bama).

Nick Saban Headed Back To Coaching?

I'd say the odds are definitely low for the move that people are alleging Coach Saban to make.

But let's be honest, crazier things have happened in college football. Even if we have to face the fact that Nick Saban has already completed college football. And by completed, I do mean he's got it beat.

He ended his coaching career at the Crimson Tide in a similar way to how he started: dominant. Coach Saban led Alabama to the playoffs seven times in the last nine years he was there. He also managed to secure his seventh national championship during that time. (Oh, and he had them ranked in the top five the season he retired). (Just for good measure).

So while there is a good chance that Nick Saban would like to rest on his laurels, he's clearly got some juice still in the tank.

Credible Sources Have Him Coming Back

ESPN analyst George McElroy has lent some credibility to this conspiracy theory. During the SEC media days, he said, "A very much in the know person that I have a lot of respect for and have spent a lot of time around, and just really, really admire. They seem to think Nick Saban is not done coaching. He's pretty adamant that he thinks Nick Saban will be coaching again."

But seemingly right after my hopes were raised, they were dashed again by the famous coach. Nick Saban went on Fox and Friends a few days ago and stated that, "There is no opportunity that I know of right now that would enhance me to go back to coaching."

Although he did add a little humor to the depressing moment. He then said, "I never really ever had a thought about getting back into coaching until 2 days ago. Ms. Terry said I had to run the sweeper in the entire downstairs. So while I was running the sweeper, the thought occurred to me, 'You know, when you were coaching, you had a heck of a lot better job than this.'"

Don't worry, coach, we've all been there. Chores make everyone do crazy things.
